Talend Community Guidelines

Welcome to the Talend Community!

The mission of this online community is to provide a peer-to-peer and direct support channel for people running their business on the Talend platform. It is a hub for education and thought leadership on best practices, where we also exchange with you directly on how to improve and extend the product platform.

While our community was designed with Talend users in mind, we welcome everyone with an interest in data integration, blending and advanced analytics as long as you observe our community rules and abide our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

  1. Be respectful.

Respect people's time and attention by asking well-thought-out questions and sharing what you've learned so far in your experimentation or prior research. Respect people as individuals by keeping your tone positive and your comments constructive. We want everybody to have a positive experience!

  1. Be relevant.

Make sure your contributions are relevant to the mission of the community, to the specific discussion style and topic where you post. Please do not post duplicate messages in different areas of the community to avoid fragmenting an ongoing discussion. If you have a new question, start a new thread rather than interrupting a conversation.

  1. Keep your word.

Don't post anything that would violate any contractual agreements (copyright, trade secret or otherwise) or nondisclosure agreements to which you are a party.

  1. Protect privacyyours and others’.

Don't share anything about yourself or your organization that you would not want to see on a road-side billboard. Don't post personal information—your own or anyone else's—including contact information or any content that you receive in one-to-one communications without the author's consent. Pay particular attention to the attachments or files you attach to your post. Make sure your post as well as attachment do not infringe any data privacy law.

  1. Remember, this is user-generated content.

You'll find plenty of good advice here, but remember that your situation, configuration, or implementation may vary from that of the individual sharing a solution. Some advice you find here may even be wrong. Apply the same good judgment here that you would apply to information anywhere on the Internet.

  1. No Advertising.

By all means, if it’s relevant to the conversation, share information about products and services you love. But please don’t use the Talend Community to prospect or advertise. Our moderators will delete any such content. If you have something you want members to join, participate in, or buy, send us a private message first.

  1. Moderator Rights.

Talend reserves the right of its moderators to edit, move, block or remove discussions, signatures or images that they consider inappropriate or disturbing to our community. We may also temporarily or permanently ban any member at our sole discretion. We will always communicate with you via private messages to provide coaching or inform you of a decision. We ask that you do the same if you need to comment on a moderation action so as not to disrupt the rest of the community. Don’t hesitate to send us a private message.

By using these forums you agree to follow these rules as well as the full Terms of Use for the Talend Community. We thank you, on behalf of Talend and your fellow community members.

The Talend Badge and Talend Employees

You will notice that some community members have a Talend badge next to their names—this means they are Talend employees.

Like you, they are members of the community, and we encourage them to share their knowledge and opinions here.
