A Job executed on a remote server throws this exception: Unrecognized Windows Sockets error: 10106.


Environment

A Job executed on a remote server on Windows


Symptoms/Description

You see an exception such as Unrecognized Windows Sockets error: 10106 while executing a Job on a remote Jobserver.


Resolution

Check jobserver\agent\conf\TalendJobServer.properties to ensure it contains the following setting:

org.talend.remote.jobserver.commons.config.JobServerConfiguration.JOB_LAUNCHER_PATH=

Note: Executing a Job on a remote Jobserver that has lost all OS env variables (such as SystemRoot=c:/windows) will cause the 10106 exception.
