Disabling error messages in the TAC log file

Overview

In the Talend Administration Center log file, some messages can be so frequent that they pollute the log.


Environment

This article applies to versions 5.x of Talend Administration Center.


Symptoms/Description

You get the following errors in your log file:

ERROR ESBConfigChecker  - Connection refused
ERROR ESBConfigChecker  - Connection to Service Locator failed.

Resolution

Follow these steps:

  1. Stop Tomcat.
  2. Go to TOMCAT_HOME/webapps/org.talend.administrator/WEB-INF/classes.
  3. Open the file named log4j.xml and add the following line:
    <logger name="org.talend.administrator.esbconductor.business.config.ESBConfigChecker" additivity="true">
    <level value="fatal" /> </logger>
  4. Start Tomcat again.

From within TAC, you can fine-tune the level of logs you want to capture. When you are setting up logging parameters, you can choose between DEBUG, INFO, WARN, and ERROR from the drop-down list.
