Talend 6.3 BigData Sandbox : Unable to Download

Hello,

 

I want to give a try to the entreprise grade Big Data software, but I'm unable to download the virtual machine.

 

I'm using installer "Talend_63-BigData_Sandbox_17-vbox-win-dlm" and I'm getting an error message "unable to load metafile" (see attached file).

Hi Nikita
You need to install an virtual machine player such as VirtualBox to open the Talend Sandbox Virtual machine file.
Follow the steps below to install and configure your Big Data Sandbox:
1. Open Virtualbox.
2. From the menu bar, select File
> Import Appliance…
3. Navigate to the .ova file that
you downloaded. Select it and
click Next.
4. Accept the default Appliance
Settings by clicking Import.

Thank you for the reply, but it is not that problem.

 

I'm unable to download the virtual machine ITSELF (the .ova file).

 

Could you give a direct download link ?

The .ova file should be downloaded through Talend download manager, i don't have a direct download link. I just made a testing and I can't reproduce the problem.
Make sure your network is available when you use the download manager. Let me know if it is not the case.

I'm at work, behind a proxy. Everything is correctly working.

 

The error is happening while I'm using the download manager, as you can see in my picture (joined at message #1).

Hi Nikita,

 

The company proxy / firewall could be the problem.  The dlm sends an encrypted request back to the file server for downloading.  The company firewall/proxy is most likely blocking that encrypted request.

 

Your best bet is to download the sandbox outside of your company firewall (i.e. from your home network).  If you are able to download from your home network, you will probably want to do the initial boot/build of the sandbox from your home network as well since the build process requires internet access to complete the build.

The good news is that the trial period is not based on date of download, rather the successfully build of the sandbox. Part of the build process is to activate the trial license, so you will be guaranteed a full 30 day trial.
