TAC's email notification is not working as expected

Problem Description

TAC's email notification (configured when a task fails) is not sending any mail after task failure, even though the TAC's SMTP is correctly configured: showing all green check-marks .

 

The following exception is found in TAC's technical log file at the time when a mail notification should have been sent:

Problem root cause In TAC's SMTP configuration, both the Username and the From Address fields are left empty, as the SMTP mail server allows you to send mails with an anonymous user.
Solution or Workaround Enter a value either in the From Address field or in the Username field (don't leave them both empty).
