TAC is not able to connect to CommandLine

Problem Description

CommandLine is not able to connect to TAC. It suddenly stops working, and when restarting either manually or using a service, it fails. The logs (in Commandline_Installation_Folder/commandline-workspace/.metadata/.log) may contain the following message:

!ENTRY org.talend.license.verify 0 0 2017-05-04 19:40:34.099
!MESSAGE License expired

Fetch License From Administrator!

Logs can also be found in cmdline/studio/commandline-workspace/.metadata/.log or an untitled file. The untitled or .log file contains a more detailed logging file for the CommandLine, as well as information useful when debugging other CommandLine issues.

Problem root cause The license file is out of date.
Solution or Workaround

To resolve the issue, follow these steps:

  1. Stop the CommandLine by turning off the service, using the appropriate stop_cmdline script, or killing the process safely.
  2. Acquire the most current license for your environment, either on your TAC or from an administrator.
  3. Replace the expired license in Commandline_Installation_Folder/studio with the newer license.
  4. Restart the CommandLine.

Note: CommandLine does not directly connect to TAC or Studio, so if you update the license in TAC, CommandLine's license will not automatically update. A good tip to replace your license is to copy the license file and directly paste it over the old license in CommandLine, and then restart to minimize downtime.
