Root Cause

Reviewing the TAC technical log, you see one of the following errors:

This error means either the username or password (or both) is invalid:

ERROR TalendRuntimeServerStateChecker - init talendRuntime Error!Authentication failed
WARN TalendRuntimeServerStateChecker - You are not authorized to use AdminConsole

This error means either the username or password (or both) is null:

WARN TalendRuntimeServerStateChecker - the username or password for Runtime server is null, runtime username or password is mandatory!
WARN TalendRuntimeServerStateChecker - You are not authorized to use AdminConsole

These errors are related to the Runtime server username and password, located at the bottom of the configuration panel, in the Talend Runtime section:

Solution

In TAC, set the Runtime server username and Runtime server password parameters to a valid non-null value. By default, they are already set to tadmin, so there is no need to change them if you haven't changed the default values from the Runtime side.
