From Talend 7.0 onward, a digital signature is added to each project item when it is saved in Talend Studio. When importing a project or project items, Talend Studio validates the signatures and rejects items with an invalid signature. This is a security measure to prevent accidental or malicious modification of project items.
As mentioned in the Setting a Migration Token section of the Talend Big Data Installation Guide for Linux, after the installation of Talend Studio 7.0.1, you have a default period of 90 days to import project items created in a previous version of Talend Studio.
After this period of time, Talend Studio is unable to validate and import project items. You will receive error messages similar to the following:
In this situation, you need to request a migration token key by sending an email to email@example.com.
Once you receive the migration token key, use the following procedures to activate it on Talend Studio.
Navigate to the installation folder of Talend Studio, open the configuration folder, then open the config.ini file. For example, on a standard installation on Windows:
Copy and paste the migration token command in the config.ini file:
In Talend Studio, open the About License window:
Click the Set migration token link:
Paste the migration token key, then click OK:
Click OK to dismiss the Success dialog:
The migration token key is now activated in Studio, and you can import your project items.
