How can I add proxy parameters to allow TAC to access external web sites?

Solution or Workaround

In order to add proxy settings to TAC, follow these steps:

  1. Stop tomcat.
  2. Edit setenv.bat or setenv.sh and add the following parameters:

    1. For HTTP:

      -Dhttp.proxySet=true
      -Dhttp.proxyHost=proxy_hostname
      -Dhttp.proxyPort=port_number
      -Dhttp.nonProxyHosts=domain_one|domain two...
    2. For HTTPS:

      -Dhttps.proxyHost=proxy_hostname
      -Dhttps.proxyPort=port_number
  3. Restart tomcat.

Note: On Windows, if Tomcat is running as a Service, use the executable tomcat_directory/bin/tomcat8w.exe, a GUI application for monitoring and configuring Tomcat services.
