A Job fails at the tFileFetch component with the error, 'java.net.UnknownHostException'

Symptoms

A Job is designed to download files hosted on the web. The Job fails at the tFileFetch with the following error:

Diagnosis

The ping ws.hostname.com command failed with a host not found error from JobServer. Thus, you can identify the issue with DNS resolution of the host.

 

Solution

Resolve the issue by adding ws.hostname.com to the /etc/hosts file on JobServer, or by updating the host name on the DNS server.
