Solution or Workaround

You can perform silent installation of any module in Talend using Unattended mode. Unattended mode is especially useful for automating the installation process, as it will perform an installation without prompting for any information.

To perform an unattended installation:

  1. Write a simple script.txt in which you define the options values. For example:

    mode=unattended
    debugtrace=/home/talend/641/Talend_Install_Files/debugInstall.txt
    licenseFile=/home/talend/641/license
    installdir=/home/talend/641/Talend_641_ESB
    installType=custom
    installStyle=advanced
    enable-components=esb,runtime,serv
    disable-components=logserv,mdm,tac,jobserver,tds,cmdline,tdqp,dataprep,sap_rfc,studio
    installServiceRuntime=1

    Note: Any component (such as TAC, Jobserver, or runtime) can be installed as a service, but only when the serv component is listed under enable-components within the script.

  2. Once the script is created, you can launch the unattended mode installation using the following command:

    ./Talend-Installer-20170908_1327-V6.4.1-linux64-installer.run --optionfile /home/talend/script.txt

For more information on unattended mode, see Talend Installer Unattended mode available options on the Talend Help Center.
