tMySqlInput - "no database" but it checks okay

I haev a tMySqlInput object that is pointed at a view.
host, port, and username are filled out. Database is blank - if I put anything in there the database refuses to connect.
How do I get around this error?

Do you mean you cannot put anything in database item? What version do you used? I have tested your issue on Talend open studio for Data Integration (5.2.1r95165), everything is ok. Would you mind giving us more info about your issue? Screenshots will be appreciated.
