Hi all. My project is small ( 10 transformations to do on first part) and i ask myself on using an ETL. Colleagues talked me about Talend but it is not clear with the license buying. I wish to know how many licences i will need. I will have 4 envrionnements DEV, QUALIF, PREPROD, and PROD. And 1 developper: (myself). On talend site i read " Subscription to Talend Integration Suite is per user (per ?developer seat?) and per year." so i expect to buy 1 licence, but a friend told me that i will need 4 licences. What is the correct answer ?
Hi Axemitch, You were right and your friend not If you're going to subscription to our Talend Integration Suite (Support + Maintenance integrated for a year and per user); you're going to purchase one named user subscription; and this named user will be used on your different platform : DEV, QUALIF, PREPROD, PROD. In our best practices; we don't require to have multiple instances to manage multiple environment; so basically the best approach will be : One instance repository for DEV, QUALIF, PREPROD : in this instance you'll leverage multiple different target systems or execution machine and you'll use the Context Variables to manage it. Then another dedicated instance for your PROD : in this instance you'll import only the validated development and you'll manage the credential of your Context Variable for your Production which is sensitive. Hope this makes sense and clarify this topic. Best regards;
Thank you for your reply. I'm going to taunt my friend I seen in a documentation (developpez.com) that a licence is need to install TAC. Is it the licence delivered by the "one named user subscription" ? And i will be able to use this licence to install TAC in all environments ? Regards.
