i need information on how MD5 will be generated.
that means what are parameters it will consider while generating MD5.
upto my understanding it considers only filesize is it true.
In talend MD5 depends on file content only, rather than file name or property. For example if you make a multiple copy of a same file like ( talend.txt, talend-copy(1).txt, talend-copy(2).txt, talend-copy(3).txt , talend-copy(4).txt ...) it will generate a same MD5 for all the file.
I have a requirement to generate a hash value for a .txt file which has been placed on different remote applications. One application is on UNIX, another on Mainframes and so on..
I'm planning to build the logic using a Talend component tFileProperties with multiple arms - each pointing to the one of the remote applications to the to generate the MD5 hash. Will I be able to generate this MD5 hash value irrespective of the technology variations (like UNIX, Mainframes etc..) in different applications?
In addition to the previous post, I have one more query:
How can I log into the target host while using the tFileProperties stage?
Talend named a Leader.
