Hi As ETL tool, Talend Data Integration supports transformation within different datasources. Use tOracleInput and tDB2Output components. Edit Schema of each component with the same types and fields. Regards, Pedro
Hi Pedro, Apparently column descriptions from DB2 where not imported to Oracle. I can see them on Output Schema (Talend view) but when looking the Oracle table the column comments are all (null). What i am missing? Thanks.
Hi Joel I see your image and find that you didn't set attributes "Database" and "Oracle Schema". One more thing, you'd better select "Create table if not exists" this time. I strongly recommend you read Tutorials about TOS and download the document. Regards, Pedro
Hi Pedro, I did what you suggested but comments are still null. Any other suggestion? I tried MySQL instead Oracle and same happens. I am using Talend Open Studio 4.1.2. About documentation, could you provide any link where i can download it? Thanks.
Hi Pedro, Thanks for the documentation. I have checked that document and unfortunately there are no relevant informations for "columns comments" in the whole document, so i guess my settings are all correct. Are you sure this is not a bug? Have you or any of your team mates tested this? I remember that i can pass fields names, types and all the data from one database to other, only columns comments are not being passed to the destination table. This happens also with MySQL (i also tried from a MySQL table with comments on columns to a new MySQL table). Comments are never passed.
Hi Joel I have found the same issue at BugTracker about this. http://jira.talendforge.org/browse/TDI-12488 Sorry for wasting your time. I?m afraid you have to add it manually. Coments can be retrieved from DB automatically. But it can't be saved into DB? Best regards, Pedro
