Difference betweet tMySQL & tAmazonMySQL

Hi,
I just downloaded the new Talend v5.0 and was happily surprised to discover some Amazon RDS components.
I am actually using Amazon RDS and have been doing it with standard MySQL components until now. That is why I would like to know the differences between the standards MySQL components and the new RDS components, to know if it worth the change in my whole project.
Thanks a lot.
Maxime.

Re: Difference betweet tMySQL & tAmazonMySQL

Hi Maxime
tAmazonxxxDB components belong to Cloud Family.
These provide native connectivity, encapsulating any complex, vendor-specific APIs.
And you will receive better performance.
Best regards!

Re: Difference betweet tMySQL & tAmazonMySQL

Hi,
I just detected one difference between both components that surprised me: I am not able to find the "DB Column" column in the schema definition of tAmazonMySQLOutput.
So I have a new question: How can I define the "DB Column" names in that Amazon component?
Thanks in advance,
Maxime.

Re: Difference betweet tMySQL & tAmazonMySQL

Hi, I still have the doubt about the "db column" field in RDS components, did it disappear?
It was very usefull to be able to have a different field name in the flow than in the DB, but it seems not to be possible with that component... Smiley Sad

Re: Difference betweet tMySQL & tAmazonMySQL

Hi
For tAmazonMysqlOutput, Column name is the same with DB Column name.
Please report it on BugTracker, if you really need DB Column feature.
