Connection to Salesforce fails due to retirement of URL

Problem Description

A Job with a Salesforce connection that had worked before suddenly started failing on April 21, 2018. It's throwing the following error:

Exception in component tSalesforceConnection_1
java.lang.RuntimeException: com.sforce.ws.ConnectionException: Failed to send request to https://www.salesforce.com/services/Soap/u/37.0

Root Cause

Salesforce is retiring the URL www.salesforce.com. See the following link for Salesforce's announcement:

https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=000229717&type=1

Solution

Edit the Salesforce URL to replace www.salesforce.com with login.salesforce.com.

From a tSalesforce* component

Make the change on the Advanced Settings tab:

login_salesforce.jpg

From a Metadata connection

Edit the Salesforce connection, then click Advanced to make the change:

login_metadata_salesforce.jpg
