We are moving tables from db2 to postgres. In the db2 the tables containing columns in upper case. As we move these into postgres we would like to convert these columns headers from upper case to lower case.
Converting the values (data) inside the column from upper case to lower case we are aware of the function. However we are looking for solution to convert columns headers alone from upper case to lower case.
We can use tmap and change it manually to achieve this result. But we are having 78 tables and doing them manually for each and every table will be time consuming.
The question is about case sensitivity for table / column name on DB2 side.
You may try to create a view with columns name enclosed between "" like this:
create view myView as select "column1", "column2" as select column1, column2 from myTable
Now, use the view instead of the table to create the schema and access the data.
Not sure this works for DB2 (cannot try) but it could be a workaround for your case.
