Correlation/Can't select columns in Analysis Editor

Hi,

I'm new to Talend and trying to do a correlation between 2 string columns, with data stored in a CSV file. I was able to connect the file, fields are well detected. I go to Data Profiling/Analysis/New/Column correlation/Nominal Correlation Analysis and want to select those 2 columns. Select Column to analyze opens ok, I can check columns in the form but if I click "ok" the resulting array "Analysis Editor" stays empty and is not filled with selected columns. Can you help me ?

This tutorial explains more or less what I'm trying to do
http://www.talendforge.org/tutorials/tutorial.php?language=english&idTuto=62#
(see screen 10 - Execute and check the analysis)

Thanks very much,

Olivier

Re: Correlation/Can't select columns in Analysis Editor

Hi
It was a bug and have been fixed on v5.2.
http://jira.talendforge.org/browse/TDQ-3590

To complete the tutorial, you can migrate the data from file to database, and then analyse the data from db connection.

Best regards
Shong

Hi, thanks for your answer shong.

Where can I get this 5.2 version, talend's site shows only 5.1.1. Beta version ?

Re: Correlation/Can't select columns in Analysis Editor

Hi,
I have the exact same issue on mac with Talend Open Studio for Data Analysis v6.0.1.
I guess this issue has not been fixed.

Can someone give me some hints going from a csv to a database ?
Many thanks in advance

Hi,
For the sake of it, i tried this on a mac as well and have not witnessed the problem experienced by Olivier.
One question though, your request to get some hints "going from a csv to a database" is a little ambiguous.
Do you mean to say you've not been able to load the sample data (it is a xslx file, not CSV) into your database?
All in all, the tutorial consists in:
1 - Loading the data into Mysql using the Talend DI job from the Project provided in the 062 example zip file.
This means you need Talend DI and DQ installed, and a MySQL database on your mac. You could alternatively load the data manually into a different database (postgresql for instance), so long as talend DQ can access it.
2 - Carry out the correlation analysis in Talend DQ
3 - Clean the data using census file and tmap component within Talend DI
Any questions i'm happy to help.
